WeRateDogs Charitable Giving Overview
WeRateDogs is a for-profit brand that donates a portion of its direct-to-consumer (retail) sales to the 15/10 Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit supporting animal welfare, veterinary care, and rescue efforts.
How Giving Works (Retail)
WeRateDogs operates under a formal legal agreement called a Commercial Coventure (CCV). This allows us to represent to the public that qualifying purchases made through our retail website (weratedogs.com) will benefit a charitable organization.
Under this agreement:
- 15% of net proceeds from regularly priced merchandise sales are donated to 15/10 Foundation
All contributions are tracked, reported, and paid in accordance with applicable regulations to ensure transparency and accountability.
Wholesale & Charitable Giving
Wholesale operates differently from retail, and our current CCV applies only to direct retail sales.
At this time, wholesale orders are not tied to a charitable contribution under a CCV.
We are actively exploring ways to expand our charitable impact across our wholesale business in a way that is legally compliant, operationally sustainable, and transparent for our partners.
Important for Retail Partners
Retailers carrying WeRateDogs products:
- May not advertise or imply that a portion of in-store or online purchases is donated to charity
- May not use donation-based language in connection with the sale of WeRateDogs products
- May not include any charitable or foundation-related messaging on product pages
This ensures that all charitable messaging remains accurate and compliant with applicable regulations.
Our Commitment
Giving back is a core part of WeRateDogs. WeRateDogs pledges to donate a portion of its profits from wholesale sales to 15/10 Foundation in 2026 and beyond.
Our retail charitable program is structured to ensure it is done legally, transparently, and
responsibly, and we are working to build a similar charitable program for our wholesale division.
